We’re excited to share that the City of Gretna Tree Board is hosting their annual Free Tree Giveaway on Saturday, September 27th at Gretna Middle School!
This program is designed to expand Gretna’s tree canopy, promote a healthier environment, and enhance the beauty of our neighborhoods. Each registered household will receive:
- One free tree (specific type not guaranteed)
- A bag of mulch
- A tree protector
- Planting instructions to help your tree thrive
Event details:
- Check-in: 9:30 AM
- Presentation: 10:00 AM
- Drive-thru pickup: Immediately after the presentation
- Location: Gretna Middle School
- Eligibility: Residents within the Gretna Extra Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ)

Please note:
- Due to rising tree costs, we can provide a minimum of 100 trees this year.
- Priority will be given to households that have not received a tree in past giveaways so that more residents have the chance to participate. (Addresses will be checked to confirm eligibility.)
- Only one tree per household unless extras remain at the end of the event.
Trees cannot be held—please plan to attend with a vehicle large enough to take your tree home. Trees are approximately 5-7 feet tall.
