📣Due to the recent storms and Fire and Rescue calls that come through after the storms, we wanted to take the time to go over the differences in sounds. 📣
Sirens will go off in Gretna for three reasons:
1. The sirens are tested on the first Wednesday of each month at 11am. If there is a storm approaching, a cancelation of the test will be made.
2. Severe Weather
3. Fire and Rescue Calls
There are TWO distinct sounds to the sirens which indicate different reasons.
1. A long steady tone is for Severe Weather
2. A repeated up and down tone is for the Fire & Rescue Volunteers
Please refer to our Gretna Sirens document for more information!
