Due to wire stringing operations between structures, OPPD and its construction contractor Brink Constructors require overnight closures of 180th Street for the safety of construction crews and the driving public.
180th Street will be closed to through traffic from Meridian Street south to Highway 370 overnight on Tuesday, April 9, and Wednesday, April 10, while this work is being performed. To minimize traffic impacts, the closure will begin at 7 p.m. each evening; the road will reopen by 6 a.m. the following morning.
Access to La Quinta Street to enter a neighborhood will be maintained; drivers in all other neighborhoods with an entrance along 180th Street will need to use nearby entry/exit points during these overnight hours.
Those traveling from Gretna East High School for after-school activities should use 186th Street after 7 p.m.
It is possible the work will extend beyond the two evenings and will require additional overnight closures. We will provide updates as they are available.
